The 2010 Equinox will offer two DI engines: a 2.4 L four-cylinder rated at 30 mpg plus and a 3.0 L V-6. The six-speed automatic four-cylinder I drove was the 2.4 Liter direct injection, and it proved to offer all the comfort and economy I expected.
Fuel efficiency is the name of the game for General Motors for the future. To accomplish this, engineers changed the aerodynamics of previous models. The power train and exterior design combine to make Equinox more fuel efficient, yet provide the roominess and passenger space that make for great comfort.
Noise barriers, sealed compartments, and flex couplings in the exhaust system make for a tight, noise-suppressed, vehicle that brings additional pleasure to the driving experience. GM also uses a technology that places two small microphones in the ceiling, one near the front and one near the rear. If loud, booming sounds are detected, counter-acting sounds are sent through the car’s radio speakers, offsetting the noise which reminded me of the headphones some folks use when flying, to cancel out the noise of the engines, crying babies or boisterous passengers.

The base LS model is less than $23,000. The next in the lineup, the 1LT is less than $24,000, and the LTZ is the top model, but is under $30,000.
Many of the features offered on the Equinox are standard, and those that are optional come at a price much less than some luxury models sell as standard products. One of my favorites is the ambient lighting. The light is pleasing and less fatiguing to the eyes, yet takes away many of the dark spaces on the floor and doors, Spy pictures of 2010 Chevrolet Equinox.making for a more positive atmosphere.
A USB connect for personal music devices, power tailgate, rear vision cameras, and twin screens for folks in the back seats allow each viewer to watch a DVD or play a different game from a neighboring passenger.
A new aerodynamic design, more features, better mileage, and a price that is $2,000 less than last year’s model could makes the 2010 Equinox a contender for your car this year.
